positioning the chestnut posts and starting the weaveputting the willow and hazel border on the fencehalf way up weaving the willow fence

Just spent an enjoyable few days making this willow and chestnut fence for clients, Hattie and Richard here in SW France.  Bit of a job getting the chestnut posts through the hardcore but once they were in it was a pleasure to use a mix of this years willow, last years crop from Chez Neymard and even some of Hattie’s wild willows and hazel from the hedgerow next to her house.  A very dense weave using pairing, fitching and slewing makes for a robust and practical insitu fence.  Looks good as well!
