We now live and work in the Perigord/Limousin Regional Natural Parc, a beautiful landscape of rolling hills, valleys and chestnut forests. Our workshop and gite lend themselves perfectly to residential courses and to fulfil the requests of many interested students we are now able to offer some dates for the coming year.

Residential Courses 2017  “On the Plank”

The “residential” courses take place in our spacious, atmospheric workshop at Chez Neymard, in the heart of the Perigord Vert countryside. We are situated 50 minutes south of Limoges airport in the Perigord/Limousin Regional Natural Park. Chez Neymard is a perfect spot for unwinding after a hectic day’s basket making. Nearby you can walk in the wood, cycle, kayak, swim in the lake at Saint Saud or just relax and enjoy the sunsets.

4 day willow basket making courses for 2017

Intensive mixed courses suitable for beginners, intermediates and advanced students. We will work mainly in the English tradition using different varieties of willow either on the plank or on tables to create both traditional and more contemporary functional baskets.  We start at 9.30 and finish at 5pm.
Intermediate and advanced students can choose their own projects.  Gorgeous home cooked lunches to break up a full working day.

We only have one 4 day course arranged for this this year but if you are interested in coming  another time please contact us and we will try to arrange another date.

Course fee £300

Dates for 2017:

September 4th – 7th

We have several accommodation options:
1. A beautiful fully equipped one bedroom gite with en suite bathroom and open plan living room/dining room and large kitchen. It also has a double sofa bed and we can add another single bed for friends to share the costs.
2. Choice of two B&B rooms. Both attached to the house with their own access.  One is a mezzanine bedroom with ensuite, the other has beautiful views across the valley and shared bathroom in the main house.

3. Camping barn – above the workshop there is spacious room with a single bed(s) with views across the valley. Shower and toilet facilities shared in the main house.
4. Camping, bring a tent and pitch it in the wood, in the garden or by the willow bed.  Shared shower and toilet facilities available in main house.

Costs for the four-day courses are charged at £75.00 per day and include lunches/teas/coffees and snacks. Students make their own arrangements for evening meals. To round off the course on the Thursday evening we have a  “pot luck supper” where everyone contributes to an evening get together, either buying some food/drink or making a dish to share. Many students arrived at the weekend and stay for the week to make the most of their time in France.

The gite is usually booked Saturday to Saturday and the other various accommodation options are booked according to individual requirements.  See www.ownersdirect.co.uk/accommodation/p8161987 for further images and costs of the gite.  The B&B is 50 euros per night. Camping barn includes breakfast and use of the shower in the main house at 17,50 euros per night. Camping in the garden or wood, breakfast and use of the shower in the main house is 12 euros per night. There are many things to do in this part of the Dordogne and students from last year chose to make the most of it by booking a couple of days either side of the courses for sightseeing. Contact us if you need any further information.
